1981 TRUE VALUE 13 GOLFER SUB SET PGA LPGA TOUR GREATS SET HOF LOADED MASTERS

In 1981 True Value Hardware created a series of four promotional booklets containing stars and legends from a wide variety of sports. These booklets contained roughly postcard size pages featuring original paintings that were reproduced for True Value by Davco Publishers in Skokie IL. These have become very collectible through the years. They are very difficult to obtain and rarely seen in booklet form any more. This set is a comprehensive look at sports history and spans most sports and legendary figures from the past 100+ years. It is likely the most encompassing sports set of that era, pretty much a time capsule of that time and the previous two decades or so. The biographical information is engaging and an interesting read. A few of the athletes included do not have other cards.
This listing is for the 13 golfer sub set. Looking at these is like picking up a golf history book. The golfers include Billy Casper, Chick Evans, Walter Hagen, Ben Hogan, Bobby Jones, Jack Nicklaus, Francis Ouimet, Arnold Palmer, Gene Sarazen, Sam Snead, Louis Suggs, Lee Trevino and Babe Zaharius Didriksen.

This set will be delivered in soft sleeves protected between two postcard size top load holders.
